Liverpool Plan Swoop For Eljero Elia

Eljero Elia has become the latest big name linked to Anfield following widespread speculation over reports he could end his time at Hamburg. A fee of €13 Million has reportedly been doing the rounds.

It is known that Elia is high on a list containing three to four players for Roy Hodgon as Liverpool look to move on from a disappointing finish to 2010, ending the year on a sour note - losing to Wolverhampton Wanderer, further increasing the woes on under fire boss Roy Hodgson.

Elia has endured somewhat of a troubled season so far with Hamburg, often being substituted by manager Armin Veh and failing to make an impression since his arrival from FC Twente in 2009.

It's become known that Liverpool won't just be awarded tranafer funds on demand, they'll have to lose some players too, with Ryan Babel oftenly being linked with a move away from Anfield. A list which also reportedly contains prolific Uruguayan star Luis Suarez, Liverpool need all the help they can get.

This will be an important month in the history of Liverpool FC as we are due to discover whether Roy Hodgson will get the boot, Fernando Torres will leave, or if Liverpool will actually purchase in the transfer window, boosting their chances of finishing in the top seven.

Any help would be extremely gracious for Liverpool this season as they've had a disastrous season under boss Roy Hodgson. When Rafa Benitez left,a massive hole had formed at the club and whoever took over the reigns was doomed for failure, for a club rapidly on a downward spiral and that's been the case for former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson.
