FA To Probe Lee Bowyer Stamp

Lee Bowyer is subject to a probing from FA after he was caught stamping on Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna. The incident occurred involving a challenge between Bowyer and Sagna for the ball. Sagna had won the ball and had passed it away, before Bowyer came in ruthlessly. On any other day, that tackle could have done some serious harm to the Frenchman.

In the match late Saturday afternoon, it went miraculously unnoticed by referee Peter Walton and the Blues captain got away with murder.

Bowyer has made an image associating himself with those kind of tackles in the past and everybody surely remembers when Eduardo was fatally injured at St. Andrews just two years ago.

The game itself was quite aggressive from Birmingham's perspective and Roger Johnson was also involved quite heavily with his physical approach toward the Cesc Fabregas.

When Wenger was asked about the incident he told reporters "I do not want to talk too much about that because I haven't seen any replays. During the game, it was very difficult the challenge on Fabregas (by Roger Johnson) and Sagna (by Bowyer). I will watch that again and give you my opinion later.'
And when the question was put to Bimingham boss Alex McLeish he claimed he had not see it.

Arsenal ended up winning by a dominant scoreline of 3 goals to nil,  re establishing themselves as title contenders. The result leaves Birmingham wandering in 19th position, and with Bowyer due to get suspended it could get a lot more uglier for the Blues.
