Villarreal Keen On Lucas Leiva
AS, situated in Spain, have reported that Spanish side Villareal are interested in Liverpool midfielder, Lucas Leiva.
Leiva had looked to have been a poor signing by Liverpool's standards but he has started somewhat of a revival whilst at the club, leaving journalists to resort that it "took him time" to adapt to life in the Premier League.
Lucas currently has a contract at Anfield until 2012 and if he continues to perform well this season he could see that contract extended, warning off any potential bids. Sporting director of Liverpool Daniel Commoli, has said that he had in fact, made contact to renew the Brazilians contract.
Liverpool might have to resort selling the midfielder in order to generate some funds for the January transfer window as Liverpool will be limited come January.
