Fergie Takes Revenge On Preston

Yesterday we saw Sir Alex Ferguson's son, Darren, get the boot from Preston North End, following his abysmal start to the Championship campaign. Darren Ferguson has lead the club to bottom of the league and he only has himself to blame.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson decided to get involved and launched a scathing attack on Preston, recalling United defender Ritchie De Laet & striker Joshua King both from their respective loans. Preston North End chairman Maurice Lindsey was reached for comment today and he said

“This has come as a shock to us and a bit of a blow. “Ritchie de Laet and Joshua King won’t be available for Saturday’s game [against Derby] because we got a message from Manchester United this morning to inform us that they had been summoned back immediately and, under the terms of the agreement, they can do that."

“It’s a big blow for us. These are two players, young and enthusiastic, who seemed to be enjoying it at Preston, so to be told by their parent club that they can’t play for us again really is sad indeed.”

Ferguson's record at Preston was dismal to say the least, only managing 13 wins in 49 matches, a big step up from managing Peterborough in League 1. He had considerable success with Peterborough, gaining promotion twice in successive seasons, leading them to the Championship.
